How to Add an Announcement Bar to Shopify (No Code)

If you want to highlight promotions, collect emails, or add urgency to your store without editing your theme code, Super Announcement Bar Banners makes it easy to create and publish announcement bars directly in Shopify.

This guide walks you through how to create your first announcement bar in just a few steps.

Step 1: Open Super Announcement Bar Banners

Log in to your store using the store owner’s account.

From the left-hand menu, go to Settings → Apps, then click Super Announcement Bar Banners.

Step 2: Click “Create New Announcement”

To create your first announcement bar, click Create New Announcement in the upper right corner of the app.

Step 3: Choose Your Announcement Type

Next, select the type of announcement you want to create.

The app offers several options depending on where and how you want the message to appear:

Storefront Page

Show an announcement on all storefront pages or only on specific pages.

Email Collection Bar

Collect email addresses and grow your email list directly from an announcement bar.

Cart Page / Cart Drawer

Display announcements inside the cart or cart drawer to encourage customers to complete their purchase faster.

Custom Position

Show announcement bars on product pages, collection pages, or in other custom locations throughout your store.

Choose the option that best matches your goal.

Step 4: Select a Preset or Create Your Own

Once you’ve chosen your announcement type, select one of the app’s presets to get started quickly.

If you’d rather build it from scratch, click Make Your Own to create a fully custom announcement bar.

Step 5: Customize Your Announcement

Adjust the settings until your announcement looks and behaves the way you want.

You can update:

  • Content – your message, CTA, or promotional text
  • Design – colors, fonts, spacing, and overall styling
  • Placement – where the bar appears on your store

Once everything looks good, click Publish in the upper right corner.

Step 6: Review Your Changes

After publishing, visit your storefront and confirm that the announcement bar is showing correctly.

Be sure to check:

  • The correct page or section is targeted
  • The design matches your store branding
  • The bar looks good on both desktop and mobile
  • Any links, buttons, or email collection fields are working as expected

If you don’t see the bar right away, try refreshing your storefront or checking that the correct display settings were selected.

Step 7: You’re All Set 🎉

That’s it! Your new announcement bar is now live on your Shopify store.
